Return Policy

Customer satisfaction is very important to all of us at Wilkinson Wine Cellar.  We are committed to delivering your product in excellent condition and fully guarantee all wine purchased from Wilkinson Wine Cellar, LLC.  If you are dissatisfied in any way with your purchase, please contact us and we will do our best to correct the situation.     Return authorizations will not be given and refunds will not be granted for customer shipments that are shipped at the customer request outside of the safe temperature range of 55 to 75 degrees F.  We will not provide refunds, returns, exchanges, or credits for any orders that are shipped outside our recommended temperature and condition range.  Customers at the time of placing their order that they are responsible for the condition of the wine when shipping outside our recommended times.

Merchandise Damaged before, during, or from Shipping

In the event that you experience a problem with a shipment, please contact us within 48 hours of your order delivery date to resolve the situation.  It is the sole responsibility of the "customer" to inspect the order shipment for damage.  All issues and or damage for a specific order, must be identified and reported to Wilkinson Wine Cellar, LLC within 48 hours of the delivery. This includes any and all shipping damage or damage from the manufacturers or distributors, this includes incorrect product or product defects.  Order issues and or damage from shipping reported after 48 hours from the delivery, will not be considered for a refund, exchange, or credit.  Photographs and the original shipping materials are required and must be provided to us to determine the cause of the problem and file the appropriate claim with the shipping carrier.  We may require you to return any unopened bottles to us for quality control information.  ALL returns must be approved and authorized in writing by Wilkinson Wine Cellar, LLC before receiving them at our locations. Returns for damage, shipping damage, incorrect orders or any physical issue with the wine order, must be received within 10 calendar days from the receipt of the order. Depending on the situation, we may offer you a replacement, a discount, a refund or an account credit to be used for a later purchase. 

Dissatisfaction with the Quality of Wine Received

If you believe that you have received a bottle of wine that has TCA contamination (i.e. the bottle is “corked”), please contact us.  You will be required to return the bottle to us for quality control information.  Depending on the situation, we may offer you a replacement, a discount, a refund or an account credit to be used for a later purchase.

Refunds

Refunds for items returned within thirty days of the purchase date will be credited in the same form as the original payment type.  Refunds for items returned more than thirty days after the purchase date will be in the form of a credit redeemable on your next purchase.  The original shipping and handling charges are not refundable. If you have an exchange for the same dollar amount as the original purchase, no additional shipping or handling charges will be incurred.  We will coordinate and process ALL return shipments with FedEx and or UPS.  The original shipping materials or new shipping materials (the meet the shipping carriers specifications) must be used for return shipments.

Conditions Refunds or Exchanges will not be granted

  • Customer altered products, tampered products, or changes made by the customer to the original condition of the wine as received
  • Customer misunderstanding or not knowing the product that they ordered, such as type, size, quality, or pricing
  • General dissatisfaction of the wine and requests in general that the wine is not as expected, expectations customers have from the wine ratings, or customers belief that the wine product is not to the level of quality that they anticipated
  • Non-specific reasons for lack of quality as compared to other times and locations customers may have had the specific wine, such as the winery, restaurants, or other tastings
  • Misunderstandings about shipping times, shipping conditions, or issues concerning shipping instructions to Wilkinson Wine Cellar, LLC; normal wear and tear on the labels, foil, or bottles due to transportation from the manufacturer or distributor.
  • Wine characteristics and variances that are considered within the range of acceptable by both Wilkinson Wine Cellar, LLC management and the Distributor that provides legal distribution in Virginia for that wine. This includes bottling process damage to bottle labels, marks, abrasions, slight tears, and stains, foil rubs, discoloration, slight tears, and loss of paint.
  • Shipping damages that are reported to Wilkinson Wine Cellar, LLC after 48 hours from the time of delivery; verified by signature receipts from the carrier.
